Cricut Expression 2 in da house

Finally! The machine is in it's place. Now for the long process of updating my Gypsy (aka "Gigi") firmware and getting the two of them acquainted!

Stationary

This weekend I put together a few stationary sets. I was able to get the patterned paper and the black cardstock(Michaels, Recollections) for $2.50 a pack. The vintage cream is from Papertrey, Inc (as well as the stamps).
I created a few different types - all the same basic motif, just different sentiments.

Not much happenin'

I guess I have a case of the mojo blues? I hope to get back into the groove this weekend.
Here is so good news-- SMASH is open for preorder. http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/kandcompany/productlist.htm?bid=1695
Just placed my order online. SMASH listed a bunch of smaller craft stores that will carry their product, but I do not have any speciality crafts stores in my area...just Michael's and AC Moore. Online is fine with me.
Hope to have a post this weekend.

Easter 'baskets' (tins)

We really enjoy hosting Easter for our family each year. I love the entire planning process of hosting. I try to find a way to give a little 'gift' to everyone.

I discovered at Halloween these little Tazo tea tin beauties make great containers for re-covering and giving candy treats. (I'll have to share my "Been Boo'd" kits sometime) I have a stash of these tins that is a tad out of control. Since I know I'm not going to stop enjoying my daily tea, I need to make room for more :). It's a win/win.

I will use the tins as and Easter "basket" and place setting for each person. Here's a pic of the supplies I used to recover each tin. (tin, score tape, patterned paper, ribbon, corner chomper. Not shown; a few scraps of solid paper that I use to cover the lid on the inside and out)

I also used my Cricut to cut an initial and label shape to be placed on the top of each tin. The tin with the "M" is the one I put together using the supplies in my first picture.

Stationary Gift

I made this little gift for my MIL.
I purchased and downloaded the Desktop Organizer template from PaperTrey Ink. Super easy to create!
I've had this jumbo 200 pack of flat card and envelope set from Michael's in my stash for a long time. They have been just sitting, waiting for me to use them! The cards are 4 x 5 1/2.
It was so easy to modify the organizer so I could use the cards I already had. (The organizer was intended for A2 sized cards.)
The color cards that came in the pack matched perfectly with Raspberry Fizz paper.
Lucking out again, I had some patterned paper on hand that went with the color.
I added her mongram on each of the 25 cards. Hope she likes!
